Raising our First Green Flag
Last June Elvis played a concert in our school. What you may ask was Elvis doing in our school? The answer is that he was there to help us celebrate raising our first green flag for litter and waste.
On the day the pupils all wore green clothes to mark their achievement in earning the green flag. Mrs Brereton School Principal had the honour of raising the flag. It was a proud moment for Mrs Brereton who was delighted to raise the flag. She was the most fitting person to raise the flag as she is retire this year after 46 years teaching in our school.
There was great excitement in the air as members of the community, parents, teachers and children were entertained by our special guest " The King". The day concluded with a party for the children. A great day was had by all with everyone getting into celebratory atmosphere that was in the air. The next green venture is to work towards a flag for " Energy Awareness" . Watch this space.
